Celebrating 30 years of manufacturing in Slovakia
The LVD S3 plant in Tornala is Slovakia’s largest machine tool manufacturing facility and is one of six production plants in LVD’s global network.
LVD was among the first high-tech companies to establish a greenfield manufacturing site in Tornala – building a state-of-the-art production facility from the ground up on undeveloped land, tailoring the floor plan and structure to optimize material flow and production efficiency.
LVD S3 is equipped for high-tech production of press brakes, laser cutting machines, tooling and automation systems, supplying customers around the world. The nearly 40,000 m² plant follows World Class Manufacturing principles for lean production and continuous process improvement.
Another first: The LVD training center established at S3 offers training in CNC, mechanical and electrical assembly to serve advanced manufacturing sectors. The scholarship program implemented for technical schools guarantees a win for all participants, bringing well-educated graduates to LVD S3.
A strategic Central European location and a skilled workforce supported by a strong technical education system have made LVD S3 one of LVD’s largest and most successful global production facilities.
Robotic bending solutions: expanded scope
LVD and REA Robotics of Italy are partnering to expand the scope of robotic bending solutions for complex projects.
The companies recently signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly develop highly customised, heavy-duty robotic bending cells for demanding applications.
REA Robotics, an industrial automation and robotics specialist, has 40 years of experience and more than 2000 installations providing turnkey automation in customised systems. Together with LVD’s legacy of bending expertise, manufacturers can expect innovative possibilities in bending automation to support increasingly challenging production requirements.
As automation continues to be a key driver and differentiator in manufacturing, this collaboration spells more choice, greater innovation, and best-in-class solutions for automated bending.
